Where should I place my newly acquired Clivia plants? |
It is important to remember that Clivias are forest plants, as such they generally get early morning and late afternoon sun, and dappled light through the day. This makes Clivias ideal plants for those dark areas in the garden. Leaf burn will result from too much direct sunlight. Unfortunately plants that are in too dark an area don’t flower frequently. |

Plants do not necessarily flower the same each year, variations do occur – this contributes to the special nature of Clivias. Various factors influence flower color, these include light intensity, soil Ph and fertilizers. It may even be possible that winter temperatures influence the color of a flower. |
